It all started one afternoon when I (Mike Istre) was washing my new Corvette. My neighbor Jeff Gomez stopped by to look at it, and after talking he said that we should start a car club...and the journey began.

​Where to start, as in the Wizard of Oz, in our own backyard. We have a lot of car enthusiast in our neighborhood and they have a nice selection of vehicles. So, we started there, developing a flyer, driving around in our golf carts flagging folks down, knocking on doors and giving them a flyer with the date and time of our first meetup. We did not know what to expect, suddenly we became pleasantly surprised on that Saturday morning.  ​

Our first meet up was at Cockrell Elementary on a Saturday Morning.  From that first meetup, the group continued to grow. We began doing short cruises after meeting in the parking lot of Cockrell Elementary to some great breakfast venues. There we got to know each other, talking about our vehicles, sharing stories, provide support and or resources for help with each other’s project. In addition, we also had a food drive for Thanksgiving and a toy drive at Christmas. A great experience for our club.

The journey began on that Saturday morning and continues to grow today, with a great group of folks, car enthusiast, all while developing new friends that have the same passion for their daily drivers and / or weekend toys.
