My name is Ryan, welcome to Garaged!
Hey everyone,
My name is Ryan Pitts, and I’m the founder and operator of Garaged. Since I’m asking everyone to introduce themselves, I figured I should do the same! I’m from McKinney, Texas, and I have a wonderful wife who is a talented muralist and artist, and three awesome kids.
Before diving into the tech industry, I spent years working in Youth and Worship ministries at various churches. In 2010, after getting married, I transitioned to tech and have been there ever since. Currently, I run a software agency called Shift Solutions and recently started Garaged.
I’ve always had a passion for cars—fixing them, breaking them, fixing them again, and installing go-fast parts. But what I love most about this hobby are the relationships you build, the stories you hear, and the experiences you share with fellow enthusiasts. One of my favorite photos on the Our Story page (https://garaged.io/our-story) captures three generations of my family working on a Bel Air together—me, my brother, my dad, and two of my grandfathers.
Speaking of the Bel Air, in the attached photos, you can see that one and some of the other cars I've owned over the years!
In 2021, I embarked on a dream to create a place where auto enthusiasts could connect online. Garaged is built entirely for you, and every feature, bug fix, and decision is made with you in mind.
Garaged is still in its early stages, but we’re learning, growing, and improving every day. My vision is for Garaged to become the online embodiment of the auto enthusiast community—a place where everyone feels connected, appreciated, understood, and accepted, no matter who they are or what they drive.
